Through the Energy Local user dashboard members can see their consumption, the level of renewable generation available, and the Club's overall consumption and savings brought back to the community. Members can also see the best time to use their heavy load appliances and have control on any of their smart devices (such as a Smart Plug). The dashboard can help people to easily shift their electricity usage to when there is plenty of local generation available, or to when the tariff is cheaper.
The dashboard data are based on the smart meter data installed at the household or small business. This is made possible through a device called the CAD which pairs with the smart meter. Members of a Club need both a smart meter and a CAD to join the Club as Active members.
